Pitch Presentation Plan

Produced by Alex Kirby.

For your upcoming pitch presentation, you will be required in your production teams to pitch your idea for the audio computer game cut sequence you will produce for unit 73.
Your presentation should follow the following structure and make reference to the following content:
1. The genre of game your audio cut sequence will be used in?
Stealth RPG
2. Information about similar existing games that are an influence to your own idea(s).
The Elder Scrolls
Mass Effect
Fallout
Dragon Age
Final Fantasy
The Witcher
Earthbound
Super Mario RPG
Pokémon
3. Information about your audio cut sequence character. What kind of computer game character stereotype(s) will your character have? Can you describe how they will sound and how they will speak? (Consider accent, tone of voice and use of formal or informal language).
Male
Australian accent
Normal Guy
Kangaroo
Informal
Happy
One in a million
Maximillian
4. The narrative (storyline) of your cut sequence. What will happen? What will be the situation? What part of the game will this cut sequence fit into?
Wakes up
Hears noises?
Explosions and gunfire
Shouts
Riots
Prisoners /Villagers/Police
House raided
Chased and hides
Decides to leave Australia
Cracking a snake whip
Kangaroo
5. Describe audio that you will produce – consider dialogue, music and sound effects.
Ocean
Whip crack
Hiss
Explosions
Gunfire
Shouts
Riots
6. How will you produce the audio? What recording/sound production techniques will you use?
Music Sequencing Software e.g. Reaper, Logic Pro
VSTi
Foley Artistry
Audio Field Recording
Studio Recording

Your presentation slideshow should ONLY include images of games and game characters that already exist and should play on a continuous loop for the duration of your pitch/presentation.
You must produce a script of what will be said and by whom. This must be rehearsed prior to your presentation and you will only be allowed to use small cue cards when you present.

Hello, we are here to present our game idea which we have named, Australian Escape. We will be explaining to you an idea for an audio cut sequence we have come up with including the game genre we have chosen, the main protagonist we have created, the story of our game and the audio.

The game genre of our audio cut sequence is an Open World RPG. There are multiple games that inspired our choice like: The Elders Scrolls Series, Mass Effect, Fallout, Dragon Age, Final Fantasy, The Witcher, Earthbound, Super Mario RPG and Pokémon. The reasons we chose these games are because most of them are Open World RPG’s and features many different aspects such as character customisation and choice. Some of them also include stealth elements like sneaking.

So the main character is called Maximillian who is a 28 years old Australian male and he specialises in hand to hand combat, military expertise and is a regular surfer. He enjoys travelling, hand gliding and sports. He has a very deep voice and his accent sounds very Australian like an Australian. Maximillian uses a lot of informal language as he uses a lot of slang and he speaks fairly fast. The tone of his voice is more happy rather than sad and depressed and he is very casual with the language he uses.

Maximillian wakes up one morning and hears explosions, gunfire and shouts. He walks outside and sees a conflict between prisoners, villager and the police. Houses are being raided and Maximillian is spotted by the three factions where the player is forced to make a choice between the three. Depending on the choice the player makes, the outcome will change and the player will fight with the faction of choice. Maximillian fights the other two factions with his alliance of choice and then decides to leave of Australia after seeing all the carnage he will have to be a part of. He gets on a Kangaroo, cracks his snake whip and rides off across the planes of Australia to begin his journey to New Zealand.

The audio within the game that we are going to produce are going to include sounds that are similar to the waves in the ocean, the cracking of a whip, rattling hissing, explosions, gunfire and loud shouting in the background like a riot. All of these sounds are related to the content that is in the game.

These sounds have many different ways of being produced as some noise can be easily produced and some others may have to be audio field recorded such as the shouting and the ocean. Most of the sounds that will be in the game will most likely be produced using music sequencing software like reaper using VSTi sounds which could be used to create the sounds like  explosions, gunfire, hiss.

This is our opening cut scene idea.
